Worth Knowing

The tools on this site run in your browser

The county storm lookup and the other interactive tools here do their work locally. Choosing a state and a county loads a data file and displays figures from it; the choice you made is not transmitted to us, not stored, and not associated with you. The same applies to the other decision helpers on the site. Looking up your own county is not a form.

Data

What we collect

When you request a connection. If and when you ask to be connected with a roofing company, we collect what you provide for that purpose — the details of the property and the work, and how you would like to be contacted. We pass it to the roofing companies we route you to, so they can respond. That is the point of the request, and it is the only reason we hold it.

Ordinary server and analytics records. Like any website, our servers record requests: an IP address, a browser user-agent, the page requested and the time. These are used to keep the site working and to understand which pages are read.

What we do not do. We do not sell personal information. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not contact homeowners who have not asked us to.

Third Parties

Who else is involved

The site is served through a content delivery network, which processes requests on our behalf in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Roofing companies you are connected with are independent businesses and handle your information under their own policies once it reaches them — we recommend asking them what those are.

Your Choices

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Depending on where you live you may have specific statutory rights to do so, and we apply the same handling regardless of whether you happen to live in a state that grants them. Requests go through the contact page.

This site is intended for homeowners in the United States and is not directed at children.

Before you call anyone

The independent match — we are paid for the introduction, not for the size of your job

Most roofing advice is written by the company that wants to do the work. That is not a failing of the people who read it; it is a defect in who is talking. The estimate, the diagnosis and the invoice come from one party, and no amount of care on your side fixes that.

We are built the other way round. We do not repair roofs and we do not sell materials, so the payment reaches us when you are connected to a licensed, insured roofing company — the same amount whether your roof needs an eight-hundred-dollar repair or a twenty-thousand-dollar replacement. Nobody here has a reason to talk you into the larger number. How we make money and how we research are both written down.

Waiting is the one thing that actually costs money. An insurance clock runs from the date of the damage rather than the date you noticed it, and damage that sits through a season stops reading as sudden and starts reading as wear — which is the exclusion that pays nothing. And if your roof is simply worn out, say so on the call. No claim will pay for age, we will tell you that plainly, and you will have lost nothing but the call.

Advertising disclosure: Peak Roof Pros is a free referral and connection service for U.S. homeowners, not a roofing contractor. When you submit a request we connect you with independent, licensed and insured roofing companies, and we may earn a referral or advertising fee — at no cost to you. Nothing here is legal advice or a coverage determination: what your policy pays depends on your policy and your state. If a roof is actively leaking into live electrics, or a structure looks unsafe, contact your utility or emergency services first.
